The living room is the place where the family usually come together to spend time together, you have friends over at home, the living room is usually the entertainment spot.
Apart from having artefacts and paintings in the living room, the most important pieces in your living room are the décor you choose to have. Selecting the right sofa where you can relax and be comfortable is very important so is having the right TV unit designed to suit your needs. TV unit designs have come a long way from the days of cathode ray TVs placed inside a bulky cabinet, a TV table or a TV stand in the living room to flat-screen TVs with simple storage spaces for your other digital devices. TV unit designs today have become versatile and smart depending on the size of your TV screen and living space. TV stands and TV tables are commonly used when there isn’t enough space for a big TV unit. So while making a TV unit design, it is important to understand what the requirement is.
In this article, we’re going to take you through the Whik TV unit design. The Whik TV unit is a floating unit which is 10 feet in width and comes with both base and TV wall units. The floating base unit comes with three cabinets for storage and an open shelf. On the right side of the TV, there is a floating shelf and a TV wall unit above. At the top, a 10 feet floating shelf with spotlights underneath. This gives the TV unit design a very classy look.
The Whik TV unit design shows a mix of matt white polylacquer, for the shutters of the floating base cabinets and the TV wall unit, and a laminate with wooden texture. The base material of the matt white poly lacquer is a medium density fiberboard, which is an engineered wood product. The MDF is made by breaking down hardwood or softwood leftovers into wood fibres which are then combined with resin binders, forming them into panels by the application of high temperature and pressure. This not only makes the MDF board eco-friendly, but also very dense and strong. The MDF board is then covered with a laminate sheet which is made by pressing multiple layers of sheets and resins together to get a single sheet making the surface of the laminate water resistant. After the process of lamination, a coat of clear matt lacquer is applied to the front part of the laminate board by the process of curtain painting. This gives the board a matt finish without any sort of waves on the surface. This finish is perfect if you have kids at home as the surface is fingerprint resistant due to the matt lacquer applied.
The laminate with texture is made using multiple layers of kraft papers, which are then processed together with resins to give a water-resistant surface. This makes the laminate eco-friendlier compared to solid wood.
The mix of both finishes blend well into the living space as they’re both light colours.
These days, most modern TV unit designs tend to have fewer external handles due to the aesthetics of the décor, this depends completely on your style of interior. This TV unit design comes without external handles and uses a push-to-open mechanism which makes it blend well into the living space.
Unlike a TV stand or TV table, the Whik TV unit design gives you enough storage space. The Whik can be customized to fit into any space, including the TV wall unit, and is highly recommended for people who look to upgrade their TVs with time.
